Red Arrows Take to the Skies Across Europe This August
The iconic Red Arrows are set to make a stunning return to the skies this August bank holiday weekend. Known for their breathtaking aerobatic performances, the Royal Air Force (RAF) jet pilots will captivate audiences across Europe with displays in Clacton and Sidmouth. This follows a memorable flypast earlier this year, which marked VJ Day, or Victory over Japan Day.
The team initially took to the skies along the south coast before making a dramatic journey into the midlands, flying above Birmingham and Wolverhampton for a patriotic display. For those who missed the performance, there’s still an opportunity to catch a glimpse of the Red Arrows this weekend if you’re outside the UK.
Flight Path for the Roskilde Airshow
One of the upcoming events where the Red Arrows will be seen is the Roskilde Airshow in Denmark. The nine Hawk T1 aircraft, known as the Red Arrows, will take to the skies between 3:30 pm and 4:05 pm. This event promises to be a highlight for aviation enthusiasts.
On Friday, the Red Arrows dazzled the skies of southern England. They flew over the Cromer Carnival Display in Norfolk, then glided over Suffolk before reaching Clacton. From there, they made their way to Sidmouth, where they performed a spectacular display for the Regatta.

British fans will have to wait until September 5 to see the Red Arrows again. They will be on display at the International Ayr Show in Scotland. After two days at that event, the team will soar over Newcastle, South Shields, Guernsey, and Jersey in the weeks ahead.
Where Are the Red Arrows Based, and How Can You Join?
For those aspiring to become a Red Arrow pilot, there are specific requirements. Prospective candidates must have a minimum of 1,500 flying hours, have completed a frontline operational tour, and be assessed as above average in their piloting skills.
The home base of the Red Arrows, affectionately known as ‘The Reds,’ is at RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire. The team moved there in late 2022 after spending 40 years at RAF Scampton.
